Hello Fellow Devils!
The bylaws here don't allow me to directly promote a fundraiser directly. Totally get and agree on why it's not allowed.
It's a sensitive matter on how and why they were voluntarily surrendered one evening 14 months ago where I almost become one of the 22 statistics.
I'm good-to-go now and back on my feet feeling positive about moving forward one day at a time with my life, but the court system here in Fairfax County, Virginia where they are seized is having difficulty releasing them to me. The crisis officer did his part and released them to the courts with a recommendation they be returned. However, the Jerkface Circuit Court Judge is demanding specific items and documentation that provide a burden of proof that are not part of the original orders conditions. He is demanding my full medical history and mental health evals even though it's not required. The original orders called for a 72 hour stay at a mental health ward at a local hospital for eval and then a 6 month seizure period. The incident was 14 months ago.
During the disturbance I wasn't arrested or a threat to anyone other than myself that evening. So I wasn't arrested or charged with anything and I have no past or since criminal history. It was a tragic case where my PTSD was mixed with Jameson where let my trauma and other life events get the best of me.
This all took place about 14 months ago and things are looking great. I have the right to have my property returned for self-defense purposes. Getting them returned will also provide closure for that tragic chapter in my life. Because of the sensitive nature of being involved in a SI related incident I don't want to use my network of social media to help me out.
Would any of you hard chargers be willing to promote within your networks to help me out? It's a relatively small amount for a retainer fee to hire a hard-charging fellow veteran attorney who knows the Judge and can't stand him and has said he treats men and vets like crap.
If you're willing to help a brother out, then please DM me and I'll share with you the link to the campaign.
You can also AMA if you feel the need to have more information. I can also share the sub/r where I'm the OP asking for advice on how to handle this challenging situation.
My SubReddit for your reference where I've been engaged with other weapons owners and fellow warriors.
Semper Fidelis my brothers and sisters and always keep your head up high.
