I have (had) a friend who was visiting my town who I served with. We were close friends back then and over the years, even consulted him during his divorce. Up until the last year, we had chatted regularly about life, other Marines and the like. When I reached out asking if he was in town via a photo he posted on fb, he promptly deleted the comment along with another dude from our unit’s comment asking the same thing. I messaged him asking if he’d like to catch up if he’s in town but got no response. Mind you, I’m going through a divorce now too and have no friends in town or family. I assumed he’d be the one person to talk to me about the ordeal like I did with him years ago. Anyways, he’s turned into a bit of a clout chaser and thirst trap over the years based on his posts but I thought we were still tight.
Moral of the story, don’t turn your back to a brother in need after he had your back. Support one another gents. That is all.
