Not sure if anyone needs to hear this, but it gets better. I was active duty from 2011-15 so I've been out for a while now. The first year was hard for me, mentally. I've since been doing awesome. I have a good career, make good money, have a nice house, toys (snowmobiles, guns, etc) but thats not to say I still don't have bad days from time to time. I'm lucky to have a very supportive wife that stays at home with the kids and keeps the house, finances, and kids in order. I just figured I'd post for guys that have recently EAS'd or are about to. I was in a bad funk for a while and didn't really think I had a "meaning". My advice to you guys would be, find something non destructive to pour yourself into. Take those leadership principles you've learn and honed to the workforce and don't forget to have fun. Guns, snowmobiles and Harleys have really been helpful for me. Never be afraid to call the boys. My local VFW is dying but the local Legion is booming and I've met some really awesome GWOT soldiers and Marines that I've grown very close with. KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THE BOYS! I cannot stress this enough. There were 6 of us in my platoon that were super close and 3 years ago we all got together for a long weekend, we've since made it an annual thing and two weeks ago was our 3rd get together. It is definitely good for our mental health. We find a central place, this year was one of the guys new house, get all the girlfriends and wives together, shoot guns, and basically just go back to "the glory days" for a weekend. I dont make the 4 years I spent active duty my personality, but I think for many of us who joined right out of high school it was a very influential and important part of our lives that shouldn't be repressed.
Anyways, I'm not sure if this will help anyone, but if it does, then it's done its job.
TL;DR: If you're having a bad time post EAS, find some hobbies and talk to the boys
Edit: If anyone has any advice or anything to add, definitely add that shit
