In the 1970s, Henry Kissinger believed that the “U.S. has passed its historic high point like so many earlier civilizations” and that Americans “lack the stamina to stay the course against the Russians who are ‘Sparta to our Athens.'
Clearly, this did not end up happening. How did the US reverse its decline with respect to the Soviets?
It was alot of little things that added up. People on Reddit hate Reagan, but the country 'mood' did change when Reagan took over from Carter whether you like it or not.
