I'm filling in i-485. The instructions say "If a question does not apply to you (for example, if you have never been married and the question asks, “Provide the name of your current spouse”), type or print “N/A,” unless otherwise directed" but most fields won't let you put a slash. Same as you're instructed to put "none" in the number of kids if you don't have any, but but the form itself only allows numbers in the field. What's the right way to navigate it? Do i just put in N/A with a pen after printing the form? Do they get the info from the form automatically by scanning the barcode?
The USVisaJourney sample has those fields empty, but I'm worried that it contradicts the official instructions.
And if anyone has a good guide for that, it would be much appreciated.
