Spouse incorrectly admitted on B1 previously on TD status

Problem

Me and my wife are Canadian residing in the United States on TN/TD status.

My wife traveled to Europe last October and when she returned she was put on B1 status. Our lawyers spotted this issue last week and her B1 had expired in April 2023.

Solution

Emailed San Diego CBP Deferred Inspections (see I-94 Correction Instructions) with my TN I-94, her B1 I-94, marriage certificate and both of our passport photo pages. I also included my phone number.

CBP called me within the hour and issued a new I-94 with my wife's status updated to TD as she was on previously.
