What's the deal with asylees not using their country's passports
Post Body

I repeatedly come across information that asylees should not travel with their country's passport. What about the use of it as an ID inside the country? Not having an ID other than i-94 makes life much more difficult, including sometimes making it impossible to get a driver's license, etc. The indefinite i-94 (with asylum granted stamp) does not look much like an ID either and is not valid for work without an actual ID. And then, some people do not have their passport confiscated upon entry at all. So, how much of a problem is using your country's passport inside the US? If it's forbidden, what is the rationale? And if you have two valid passports from your home country, can you use the other one?
