SSN after asylum granted by IJ
Post Body

I was granted asylum in late March before I could get an EAD. The case info is not available in EOIR automated system. I gave SSA my court decision in early April and got the paper telling me to wait 4 weeks. According to SAVE, SSA's request was promptly returned, but they can't process my application, so I guess USCIS(?) couldn't confirm it to them. After that I also received the white card, brought it to SSA but now SSA wants another 4 weeks to get a confirmation from USCIS. I need to start working. What are my options? Can I ask for another InfoPass appointment and make USCIS sent a request for SSN to SSA? Can I get ITIN quickly and start working with that? Anything else that I could do?
