So I've had checking with USAA for 25 years now. I have most of their insurance products and still find them competitive and worthy for my use-case scenario. But I keep a good amount in my checking account due to all sorts of bills/payments each month ($25K) and direct deposit my paycheck. I have an Ally Savings account for overflow and emergency savings. It pays 3.00% and much more competitive rates. I figure if I open checking in Ally I can sweep money faster from Savings there to Checking thus keep much less in checking and earn more on balances kept there. If I close my checking at USAA, do they reduce saving overall in having less products with them? For instance, having homeowners and auto produce xx more discount? Has anyone just moved all their banking out of USAA and kept just the insurance products?

I was with Usaa for 32 years and then a boom of insurance that doubled for no reason but blames on uninsured motorists. Went to State Farm too then got a great rate with Progressive especially when my son was under 25 and a new driver. No regrets
