Hello! My apologies if this doesn’t belong here.
Recently I had a no-fault accident. I was leaving a parking lot when the opposing driver failed to yield and t-boned me. I had dash cam footage of the accident and submitted to USAA.
Now, about three weeks after, I got an email from my adjustor saying that they could not get the dash cam footage I submitted over to the other insurance company. So they asked me to email it to the other insurance company. I told my adjuster that the file is too big to email (even after cropping it), so the adjustor wants to know if they can give my email to the opposing adjustor to work with them to submit the video.
This situation is a little abnormal to me. I was always told to never deal with opposing insurance adjusters /companies directly and to let my insurance handle everything. I also don’t quite understand how USAA can have a copy of the dash cam footage but be unable to get it to the opposing insurance company. In my mind, me communicating with them directly to submit is just extra steps that USAA can do themselves.
What do you all think? Should I just allow my email to the other insurance adjustor to communicate with them and get them the dash cam footage? Or should I leave it to USAA to figure it out?
