Wifi Issues with Unifi Networking Equipment and MacBook Pro w/ M1 Chip
Post Body

Hi all.

I recently picked up a new m1-based MacBook Pro and have had major issues connecting to the internet over WiFi. Sometimes websites will not load at all, sometimes they load very slowly with some site elements (photos, embedded objects) refusing to load.

My Unifi Equipment includes:

  • USG-3P (Firmware 4.4.56.5449062)
  • AC Lite (Firmware 6.0.21.13673)
  • NanoHD (Firmware 6.0.21.13673)

I run unifi controller as an LXC container, virtualized in Proxmox, and am on version 7.1.68.0.

All other devices on my network seem to be working as expected, including other (non M1) mac computers, iOS devices, and tons of IOT gear (voice assistants, wifi smart switches/lights/sensors/etc.)

Are there any known issues with the new M1 macs and unifi equipment? Any settings to look into?

Edit: Thanks to mcdade for providing a solution. Rolling the AP firmware back from 6.0.21.13673 to 6.0.15 got things working. Thanks mcdade!
