What's the best route up Scafell Pike from Grasmere?
Post Body

Hey, I'm going to Lake District tomorrow and I'll be staying in Grasmere. I really wanted to conquer Scafell Pike while there :)

I can see on the maps that it's roughly 16 km one way if we were to go through Great Langdale (and pretty flat at the beginning). Is that something reasonable and would you recommend against it? Are there any buses that could take us to a closer starting point?

The advantage of hiking in June is that it won't get dark until 11pm so we aren't worried about a longer hike but on a map it always looks easier than it is so I thought I'd ask.
