Coming back from a long time break

So my wife and I started young (it was something I had dreamt about since I was about 21, and I confessed my desire to my wife about 3 months after our wedding). Just for background it took a few years before we took the plunge, had lots of ups and downs with it but we found our groove, and I was the proud husband of a woman who had a few flings, but most amazingly, also eventually had boyfriends she was exclusive with. We paused our activities 10 years ago- her boyfriend moved abroad and it affected her, and also we went on to have children.

At the end of the date, he wanted to take her home but she insisted on coming home- not least as the kids would need her in the morning.
