The following post is intended to help people understand reasons why you may not be able to post and who you should approach

On reddit there are 2 types of moderators

1. Reddit moderators
2. Community moderators

Reddit moderators are employees of reddit who serve to address concerning behaviours across the platform and have the power to apply temporary and permanent bans across all of reddit.

Community moderators on the other hand are volunteers who help maintain a particular subreddit community such ss this one r/uksex or have created the subreddit, their power is limited to managing, administering, customising and applying restrictions to the community

When you click to email moderators you are emailing the community moderators.

As such, if you are not able to send users chat messages this is likely due to negative karma causing a shadow ban

If you are not able to post at all even on other communities, you will need to get in touch with reddit moderstors as you may have a site ban Or restriction

Community moderators cannot do anything about this as we do not have access to the controls that apply or remove these restrictions

If you are finding you cannot post in this community alone

Check that you are posting with the specified an asl in your post title (age sex and location)

Check your post adheres to the community rules

Automoderators are bots that help take tge pressure off moderstors in large communities, some times they get things wrong in which case you will get an automated message to say there has been a problem with your post

Rule of thumb is If you have received an automatic message to say a ban or mute had been applied then you csn contact ourselves

But if you received no email then this is likely a bsn or restriction imposed by reddit themselves and you must contact reddit not us.
