PSA - Accounting system Waveapps is discontinuing bank integrations in 6 weeks time
Post Body

Originally posted in r/CasualUK but was suggested here might be useful too...

I know we're an entrepreneurial lot here, so this is going to affect a few. Waveapps is a free accounting package that has some cool features. Lots of people use it instead of Xero and QuickBooks thanks to the simpler interface, phone apps and price point.

They are stopping support for bank integration, and that was a huge time saver. They were bought out, and the new owners are retreating from the EU and especially UK it seems with the pitiful excuse that it's too expensive to update integrations (despite a half billion dollar buyout). The integrations are cut off on 14th September, 6 weeks notice. Just 6 weeks notice via a tiny pop-up on the dashboard to change all your business accounting systems. Madness.

Alternatives include Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Pandle (cheapest by a stretch, but receipts integration isn't as good).

I'm posting this here as I'm sure some other members may not have seen this, and it could become a nightmare for anyone in business. I know it's not usual CasUK fare, but the implications are big enough that I'll risk a mod-slap, and if it helps even a couple of you it's worth it.
