Remortgaging at 60?
Post Body

Hi all,

Just wondering if my mum can improve her mortgage situation in her last few working years.

Current situation: 80k mortgage on a 3 bed house worth probably 110k-120k. She remortgaged maybe 10 years ago to an interest only. She earns maybe 20k. I think she pays something obscene like £400p/m for this.

Is there any way she would get a normal mortgage to increase the LTV a bit before she retires and give her more breathing room. While interest rates are low and she is still bringing in a bit of money.

She knows she will need to sell come retirement, she has bugger all pension.
