Hi all,
I was reviewing the Vanguard Uk website and thinking about transferring my current S S ISA to them, but I have a question:
The ongoing fee for a life strategy fund is 0.22%, where as some of the equivalent funds that would comprise it are cheaper ( e.g. FTSE 100 is 0.06% fees, Global dev ex UK is 0.15% etc) Doing a bit of quick maths it seems a bit cheaper to just invest proportionately into each individual fund instead. I appreciate there is a cost associated with re-balancing over time, but could this not be achieved for free by just altering the relative proportions of your monthly contributions you make in a few years to bring it back in line?
I feel like I must be missing something fundamental here, but a few small % points at this stage may well have a large impact over time. Thoughts?
