Spending NOT Money Deprivation of Assets. Retiring Early or Stepping Back
Post Body

Spending NOT Money Deprivation of Assets.

I turned 57 I'm Divorced - I have my own small house but I don't want to work after 59 or 60 or only part time. Maybe work in Winter and take summer off kind of thing.

So to take a break - I need bridge the gap between 59 and 67 that's 8 years. I'll work on odd jobs or contract in IT over winter but want summer free. I kayak Dance and love the great outdoors,

I've some savings so I'm thinking to hell with lot of it - the rat race I've worked hard. Why not equity release or just spend most of my savings up to 67.

I'm not hiding anything or wish to do anything illegal. If I end up in a care home it could get taken anyway that's though a long way off so this can hardly be classed as spending assets intentionally. This is called saving for early partial retirement,

I have an army pension at £250 a month and a War pension, so 500 a month at 59.

So I don't need a lot

I honestly feel like cashing lot in and being free from the wheels of industry at least for summer at least.

Who feels the same what have you done to exit the rat race.
Thanks from a veteran needs a break from work.
