Hi Guys,
I’ve been researching a lot to see what I can and cannot get tax relief for, for working from home.
So far I can see guidance for Self-Employed individuals (which would make sense as these would be majority of individuals who submit a self-assessment)
I do not have any other jobs and this is my primary source of income- can I still expense the below, in line with guidance for self employed?
- Broadband
- Mobile
- Council Tax
- Home Insurance
- Mortgage Interest
I have one room in my house that Is my office and only use it for this purpose and no other.
It seems self employed can expense the appropriate % of the above- would appreciate your feedback and thoughts, if there are any others you feel you can expense for please let me know!
If possible I am thinking of working out a % based on hours per week I work and match against Phone/Broadband bill and then work out the % my office is out of total rooms within the home for the rest I.e. council tax/H Insurance/Mrtg Int etc.
