Looking for gay and bisexual male Patient and Public Involvement Contributors
Post Body

Hi everyone,

I’m from King’s College London and I’m just dropping this ad for paid PPI Contributors here. Get in touch if you’re interested.

We are looking for gay and bisexual male public representatives (18 years) to review a survey we have developed for our study. The aim of the study is to compare the experience of bereavement of partners and spouses for heterosexual and LGB (lesbian, gay or bisexual) people, to help us to understand whether they have different bereavement needs and how care may need to be improved to address these.

You do not need to have any specific skills to help – we are just looking to hear perspectives from people of various sexual orientations. We are specifically seeking gay and bisexual men now as we currently lack this perspective amongst our representatives. Priority will be given to people who have lived experience of bereavement of a partner or spouse, however we are also interested the views of those who have not. We are also particularly interested in hearing from underrepresented groups, such as Black and Minority Ethnic individuals, trans people and those who were bereaved earlier on in life.

We are looking for feedback on the survey to ensure that the questions are sensitively worded and clear to understand. If you get involved, you will be sent a copy of the survey via post and be asked to complete it while noting potential issues and areas for improvement. Please note that some questions will not be modifiable as they are part of a standardised set, but your feedback is valuable regardless. Once this is complete, we will arrange a meeting to discuss your feedback either at a location of your convenience or on the phone if this is not feasible. Public representative contributors will be reimbursed for up to three hours at a rate of £19.40 per hour.

If you have any questions or wish to express an interest, please contact me by phoning 020 7848 5774 or by emailing [email protected]
