Finding a (semi) fulfilling job in the UK.
Post Body

I’m 25 & I have a degree achieved 2 years ago now, in pharmacology, graduating top of my class (1:1 averaging ~90%). Ever since graduating I have tried to find work within my degree field and have had little success, having almost constant rejections for “entry” level positions over the past 2 years.

In the meantime I’ve worked a few different jobs : operations assistant manager, facilities coordinator & currently a lab manager for a school. However every single one of these jobs have been on “short term” contracts usually lasting between 4 & 9 months with my positions swiftly getting axed after the contracted period is up.

Every single one of these jobs has usually been me placed in a building/office/lab on my own in a separate Building very rarely having any REAL communication with anyone besides an odd email making it feel incredibly isolating.

I’m 25 now and I feel like I should start building some semblance of a career. I feel like the goal of pharma is dead and buried. However after some reflection I feel like I need a job that has some work-social life or some team aspect where I can make some friends and the day slightly more tolerable.

I just have no idea where to start, what to look for, how to find it. Ive had really nothing but negative experiences with management and work where I have been previously (with companies messing up pay, not supporting me when I ask for additional support).

How do people find work? All I seem to get is rejection email after rejection email. I don’t know what else I could do more or better.
