Iām an incoming freshman in the psych program, and I did 3 years of Spanish in high school, so I have to finish through the fourth level as part of my program. The placement exam recommended me into Span 130 (Spanish 3), and I signed up for it at registration. However, multiple current students at UIUC have told me to get my language requirement done at a community college instead, as Spanish courses at the university are known for being notoriously difficult and demanding, which is definitely not something Iām looking for as I have no desires to ever take Spanish after I get through the fourth level. I have Yara Karrington as my teacher this semester currently. Should I drop Spanish and replace it with another Gen-Ed when registration opens back up in August and then take Spanish 4 as a pass-fail at COD or take my 2 courses during my freshman year at UIUC? I got Aās in every semester of Spanish in high school btw.
