Remember, dorms are just a room!
Post Body

It seems like there's a lot of housing registration activity going on so everyone's worried about getting stuck in the uncool dorms.

Don't worry, dorm choose doesn't matter that much socially

I know a lot of people will worry that they will basically be friendless if they aren't living in Black, Brumby, Creswell, or Creswell. This is not the case. Honestly if you can, just select dorm based off convenience, price and amenities.

The only real dorms that may hurt your socialization are the health sciences dorms, if you don't have a car. The worse case scenario of living at ECV, UV, and HSC dorms is that you are eventually getting the upperclassmen / transfer student / single adult experience earlier than others. By your second year here, you will be doing more and more of your socialization off campus anyway or within clubs anyway.

If you are worried about making friends the first step just actually go to class. Be engaged in any sort of seminary / discussion based class, join study groups, get active in groupmes, and get involved in clubs.

I know people are going to ask where specifically I lived, I was in a 4bed/2bad "expanded" ECV room for my 2017-2018 freshman year. Expanded means that they put in bunks for two of the bed rooms bringing the total amount of peeps to 6 per unit and 3 per bath. I'm still good friends with 3 of my roommates, but my roommate and one other guy basically fell off the face of earth during the summer of 2018. Don't feel too much pressure to maintain all of the relationships you start, it will be impossible, just privatize.

Being in ECV can actually be a huge advantage if you play your cards rights. Your place will become the location for all football watch parties and parties in general.
