Forgot to RSVP for graduation, will I still be able to attend?

Hello, basically I forgot to RSVP for Graduation, and the office told me that I can still attend the ceremony, but I am wondering does that mean my name will show up and read during the event? The email says "Graduates who are not attending the ceremony will not have their name shown or read during the event". I emailed the office already and probably have to wait a while for a response, but I am wondering if anyone has had this experience and if is there any way to get my name read and show up during the event.
