It was the summer after 8th grade, I don’t remember the exact date but the year was 2010. It was a hot summer afternoon in Walton county Georgia. My mother and step dad had purchased a log cabin with a small 1 acre fishing pond in the back yard, where we all spent most of our time outside. I always had a habit of exploring the forest on the other side of the pond and found that more interesting than being in my own yard, and I became addicted to finding and identifying different plants and weeds while on my hikes. During this time period I would also talk on the phone for hours and hours with my friends. We would talk about spirituality, and anything paranormal was our favorite topic to rant about at the time. I was sitting on the steps of our back porch which was on the second story, and over looked the pond. It was around dinner time so my mom was cooking some ground beef to make nachos for my step dad in the kitchen adjacent to the back porch. I was avoiding the smell and had just hung up the phone with my friend, when I looked up and saw it. There in the sky above the trees on the other side of the pond , perhaps 600- 700 feet away was a large metallic red egg shaped UFO already in the sky and moving at a steady pace. It bounced up and down moving below the tree line at some points while moving to the right. It happened so quickly and quietly that I was left there yelling profanities and in complete shock. The craft appeared to be at least 15 feet tall or more from the top of the egg to the bottom. The craft itself seemed to be made from two pieces, an upper piece which was the point on the egg, and the lower piece was a bowl that maybe came up a third of the way from the bottom. Where the top 2/3rds met the bottom bowl was a small black ‘seam’ upon which the upper cupola was rotating counter clockwise. The upper part was also faceted with straight lines or metal ridges going from the top to bottom. The entire craft was a matte, reddish/copper colored metal that I can’t quite place. I immediately busted into the kitchen after and explained what I saw to my mom who was still cooking, and she was like okay....sure you did.... Just thought I’d share my story, after googling online later I found a sketch of a craft someone made very similar to the one I described.
