Hi guys!

I literally just created a Reddit account for advice on college. I got into the astronomy program at UC Santa Cruz and would start in the fall.My mom REALLY wants me to go here but I'm afraid the colleges will feel too isolated from each other. So I was wondering what you guys think about:

- The social life at UCSC in general

- The relationship/dynamics between colleges, and which ones you avoid or favor

- Food, culture, life in Santa Cruz in general

- GenEd teachers to look out for

- Any tips you wish you knew before going to UCSC, especially essentials to buy ;)

- And if you're in the astronomy program, how has that treated you? Research, teachers, students, etc.
