I'm a Cogs Design and Interaction major and this will be my last quarter at UCSD. I really want to have a lot of free time this quarter to 1) prepare for postgrad and 2) just enjoy SD while I can. So I'll probably be taking 1-2 classes tops. Which HCI upper div should I take? My goal is to have something that'll help me build a good UI portfolio. A good professor / class system is a big plus.
DSGN 100: I haven't heard much about Rill, who's teaching DSGN 100--some insight into how he is as a prof and how the class is structured would be nice.
DSGN 118: interests me since it's taught by Haijun Xia. I took a look at the class website and it looks pretty interesting. But I heard there's a lot of papers or something, which would be a slog. Could someone verify?
ENG 100L: Took COGS 187A over the summer and liked the projects, which would carry over to 100L. It'll probably be nice for portfolio building.
Basically asking for people's experiences with these classes and which one would be most worth it. Thanks!
