Anteater Express' Newport Route Discontinued For Next Year

The Bus Love Initiative Board (the group of students and staff selected to decide how the Bus Love Initiative funds are spent) has elected to cancel the Anteater Express' Newport Beach Bus Route for the next year. Apparently, it's very expensive and practically no one rode it.

The total fees for the 2014-2015 main academic year were:

Newport Route: $295,771 / (1.5*14,905) = $13.23 per ride
Park West Route: $210,834 / (1.5*96,147) = $ 1.46 per ride
Spectrum Route: $ 50,106 / (1.5*13,373) = $ 2.50 per ride

The above math extrapolates the combined Fall & Winter quarter ridership from the article into Fall & Winter & Spring.
