I'm an incoming transfer for fall, and have been slogging through all the pre-reg reqs, and I'm pretty confused and overwhelmed with the housing options/descriptions.
Is the gender inclusive housing *only* trans/nb students? Is it synonymous with the rainbow community? Is it a separate floor/section of the housing at the Green?
I chose GIH on my application because I have no preference for the gender of my roommate. I'm autistic and grew up primarily around femme people, so even while I'm open to a male roomate, I didn't want to completely bar off the option of a female roommate if it ends up being a good fit.
And while it's not that I am opposed to a trans/nb roomate, its just that I don't want my pool of possible roommates to be only with those students, and therefore a way smaller pool. I was under the impression it widened the pool of potential roommates, but I want to check if that is the case.
Honestly mostly just looking for more info on what GIH entails, and possibly what experiences other people have had with it, so I can decide if it's the right choice for me.
Thanks for reading, any advice/input is super appreciated
