I’ll have to sync it up with time zones! If he’s on a mission to reproduce it’s a model I can’t find exact feet for anywhere and close enough hasn’t been good enough (or examples of the model to be honest)
I’m in Australia but always willing to pay shipping. My wife’s family is from the USA so I can always save on shipping if I can be patient for the bi-annual packages were sent (Easter and Christmas) from her grandma. But this is typewriter repair I’m taking about! I managed to get all the keys to action, return is no longer sized and the bell though feint will ring most of the time. I’ve got a fresh ribbon waiting for it but I’ve got to finish all the polishing and waiting for feet.
It’s the first one I’ve had to do more than a bit of a clean up on, and I’m not sure what I’ll do with it, if it will become regular use or a special occasion machine. Depends on how the action is. I have a palsy in my dominant hand after multiple surgeries so if I have to put to much effort into getting a decent outcome with a half used ribbon it can get fatigue or illegible to touch type and I’m resorted to single finger pressure. My Brother 215 I can touch type on for hours and hours. Doing all my Christmas letters was a joy as I had just acquired it after using an Olympia SF that needs a bit more effort.
