I'm SO TIRED of men apologizing when they're not sorry
Post Body

Today I got a message from a dude on reddit who saw a (completely non-sexual) photo of me in r/redditgetsdrawn (a completely non-sexual sub) and wanted to know if I had any more photos I could send him because he really liked it/found it attractive.

When I played dumb and asked him what he meant, he said he wasn't sure "how to ask without sounding like a rude pervert" and that he "totally understand"s if he is "out of line." BRO. What are you doing?! How does it never cross anyone's mind that the reason they can't figure out how to ask without sounding rude is because they are, in fact, being rude??

After I pointed all this out, he "apologized." Well, I'm tired of men apologizing. I'm tired of them acting like it's okay for them to treat random people like sex workers, but also not be willing to pay for that work. I'm tired of, when I ask why they are actually sorry, hearing "because you got mad" or "because you didn't like it." That's the wrong answer, and you're not sorry for anything other than messaging someone who called you out on your BS.

Why can't they just do better? Like, instead of doing inappropriate things on the 0.00001% chance you might get a nude out of the deal, why not just not be inappropriate and treat women like human beings? Is it really that hard to be even the slightest bit polite or respectful?
