Or even rightfully accused! I have seen a lot of discourse about the new heartbeat bill that allows anyone to make an accusation against someone for participating in or receiving an abortion, but what I haven’t seen is people discussing what would happen if you’re actually accused. What happens if a rabid ex-boyfriend submits a fake claim against you? What recourse do you have? How would you prove it’s fake?
Maybe it’s too soon to know since it’s a new program but am I the only one wondering??
Edit: As many people have pointed out, SB-8 actually does not allow you to sue the accused woman herself— just any provider that is “complicit.” Thanks for the correction!
