As a person with “plus-size” needs for clothing I have shopped with “plus-size” in mind, however I have this issue with places marketed as plus size versus somewhere that is not and also sells plus size clothing. I recently ordered tops from Lane Bryant, which I had measured myself beforehand to make sure I was ordering the right size. Come to find out, according to Lane Bryant, a 58” bust size is not the same as mine for some reason. I don’t know how many ways you can interpret an inch, but apparently with clothing, you can. If I go to Kohl’s and find items in the regularly sized section, I can sometimes get away with a 2XL, but anything marked as plus size I’m usually their version of what would be an XS. I know everyone’s body is made differently, but why the hell is it so hard for clothing companies to just find that nice middle ground?
Same with Torrid. I bought a bra a while ago that was labeled as 48DD on the Torrid website. I got it, and it was HUGE compared to what I needed. Like, 4 cup sizes at least bigger than what I needed. And I had measure myself and made sure to check before ordering. I got different bras made for regular sizing that came in 48DD and they fit so much better.
If you can wear some 2XLs in "normal" sizes that means you're right in the weird area between "normal" sizes and smaller plus sizes. I am too, and it's hell.
