Continuous use of birth control, thoughts?
Post Body

Hey, everyone! I've been a long-time user of bc (for about 6 years) and I first started taking it because I wanted to be relaxed during sex with my bf, but then realized it helps my skin a lot. Over the years I switched between brands and, a year and a half ago, I suddenly started experiencing a bad case of adult acne.

I would get them only on my chin and I started feeling depressed and horrible about myself, so my doctor and I switched between a few brands before I found the one I absolutely love. I am currently taking Belara (used for acne treatments like Diane, but with smaller hormone doses) and I am happy with it, however, I noticed that during the 7 day break, I would still get a breakout on my chin (one or two acne, not as bad as before, but still super painful and annoying). I looked up online for the continuous method of BC and started reading into it both on reddit as well as opinions of experts, their papers, advice, conclusions etc.

I decided to give it a go and in June I started skipping the 7 day break and taking the pills continuously. As I expected, I haven't had ANY breakouts, my skin is flawless, I am period free and I feel amazing.

My concern is this: should I and when should I do the 7 day break before going back to this regime again? I don't have any spotting, don't feel bloated and my body is reacting well to this method, but I'm not sure if I should still take a break or not. If I do, I know I'll get a breakout and would need a couple of weeks for my face to calm down and I really don't feel like dealing with that. :/ What are your thoughts on this and do you have any advice? I'd really appreciate it!
