This may seem obvious, but "the morning after pill" IS MADE OF HORMONES so if you react negatively to hormonal birth control, you may similarly react negatively to Plan B. It's just one dose, but a big one. Obviously everyone is different and this is absolutely not medical advice, but if you've had severe side effects from hormonal birth control, please talk to your doctor to see if Plan B is safe for you. Best do this before you need it, because when you need it, it's important to take emergency contraception as soon as possible!
My Story: I have a psychiatric condition that is exacerbated by hormonal birth control, so I am not on hormonal birth control anymore. I took Plan B ten weeks ago without thinking very much about it (I was worried about getting pregnant, so I didn't really carefully weigh all the pros and cons), and for a whole month afterward, I was profoundly unstable. Worst symptoms I've experienced in almost a year. I still don't feel like I'm back to normal, and it's been TEN WEEKS.
I'm not sure what I should've done - I needed to not get pregnant, for sure, but I wish I could've avoided the chaos that drug has wrecked on my life.
