F21, I have had issues with sleep for years. Not the lack of it, but rather the over abundance of it. Your girl can sleep for HOURS and still keep going. There’s been times where I’ve slept for 14 hours, woke up to use the bathroom, and went right back to bed.
It’s awful and it’s ruining my life. I feel like I’ve tried everything. Drinking more water, taking supplements, even adjusting my circadian rhythm, and nothing. Every time I sit down to do homework or something I’m just too tired and the urge to sleep trumps everything else.
Every time i have brought up this issue to a doctor or a psychiatrist they just suggest i see a bunch of different specialists- a sleep doctor, a neuropsych, etc. I’m a broke college student on the school’s insurance so it’s not like I have the money or ability to see someone for that. Hell the doctors and psychs I see are the free campus ones.
I’ve gotten blood tests and everything’s normal, and I wonder if the OCD/anxiety is maybe causing me to be tired from how often my mind is on overdrive but it feels like everyone I talk to gives me a shrug and has no idea. Like I’m some big mystery. It’s so annoying because I just want answers and my academics are being affected and I don’t have TIME to wait for an answer :(
