I have seen this a lot — women, more often than men, are hugely into intelligence. You ask any woman what she finds attractive in a person, they’d be like “I love how the person is so smart/intelligent,” “I love their brain,” and a friend said “I would be so attracted to a woman who is killing it at work.”

I am personally totally different. I lose it when I see a beautiful face, someone whose kindness moves me, or their empathy, transparency, giving credit where it’s due, the way they speak. Not to say I’d date someone who is totally dumb & incapable of using their brain, but I wouldn’t bother if they knew nothing about philosophy, or biology, architecture etc because I believe those things can be learned depending on what someone’s interests are. Or like I literally don’t give half a shit to how accomplished someone is if it were about dating them. I would just care about whether they’re making enough money that we can have a healthy partnership as long as work stuff is concerned.

While respectful of people who find intelligence as the top 1 or top 2 reasons to find someone attractive, I want to understand what your minds are thinking about the other person? Like what about their intelligence makes you go “oh I so want to do xyz with that person” (Insert: build a life/spend maximum time/kiss/have hot steamy sex in place of xyz)? Is there a why? Or what about someone’s intelligence makes you go crazy for them? And is it selective intelligence (say someone is super philosophical, but they know nothing about biology) or is it more like “oh wow this person knows a bit about literally everything on earth?”

Or is it more like “That’s just how I am, I just find intelligence attractive, can’t put a finger on why?”
