Lying about your body count

We’ve all seen the skits, the comments, the jokes: having a high body count somehow lowers your value as a woman. I know, not every potential partner feels this way, but a lot do.
Every relationship I’ve been in, this question has come up. Every. Damn. Time. And every time, I feel pressured to lie and show how “low” mine is. It happened again tonight with someone I quite like, and it just made me sad to think that my worth is assigned to my past like that.
