I have the good fortune to work primarily with women who are 10-30 years older than me and it's great because I get to hear all their stories. I didn't have a great relationship with my mum, she passed a couple years ago, and I've really relied on these ladies for wisdom.
One of these women taught me how to clean and stay on top of my chores. They have learned to help me manage grief. They have taught me things about women's history I never would have known to even look for.
Anyway, I know times are tough for a lot of us right now. Can we just take a moment to share some wisdom with one another?
I'll go first with a classic: Always have at least one bank account that's in your name only. Deposit 10% off the top of all your income (or as much as you possibly can, even just $5). Keep it secret. Personally I think this is just good advice for everyone.
And a bonus one, from a good friend of mine. She says, "Nobody wants to take out the garbage." and for me something just clicked in my brain and it really helped with my productivity at home.
