I'm almost 39 and just got diagnosed with ADHD. I've had a lot of struggles and I've had issues getting my medication dosage right. Since being diagnosed less than 2 months ago, I've had 2 friends, who do not have ADHD, tell me they were prescribed adderral. One male friend is on the same dosage I am, which took me over a month of less dosing to work up to. I am pissed. He doesn't have the issues I've had my whole life and he goes to his doctor because he's depressed and can't focus for a few months and gets a higher dose than I got when I've had issues my entire life. How is this fair? How is this legal? Why do I have to get a run around with dosaging when someone who is not ADHD can get the prescription? They keep saying it's so addictive....so why are doctors prescribing it?
