Times when the ‘Wario and Waluigi’ stereotypes were actually decent guys?
Post Body

It’s always bothered me in anime and games that there’s the stereotype of the fat frog man (wario) and a lanky bird man (waluigi) who are both super shallow bad guys that are 1dimensional, petty, and just straight evil.

Recently, I started watching World Trigger, and it has that exact stereotype, except it grounds things more in reality, where they are both actually very competent at their jobs (as high ranking members of an elite org) and actually have some humanity to them; the frog man doting on Chika is very wholesome.

I also really enjoyed the way its used in Gungrave, though the stereotype isnt incredibly obvious here. The two men that Brandon works with in ‘collections’ are very morally dubious, and the lanky guy looks like hes on crack 100% of the time, but they end up being super loyal friends to both each other and to Brandon, all the way till the end.

EDIT: For clarification, I meant people who are or who you would assume to be bad guys, villains or antagonists.
