As Reddit has decided to make API changes, several of the people who program our tools have taken those bots offline and do not wish to develop for Reddit anymore. This has put us in a tough position as it has created an enormous amount of work yet we do not have the hands to do it. Subreddits can take a tremendous amount of work and there isn't a long line of people that want to learn how to moderate, and work for free, in order to make money for Reddit. We were just handed a shit sandwich not of our making and we are told we have to eat the whole thing, now.
We have seen a lot of people on Reddit say "Well just stop modding." Which sure is a solution. Of course, we have had a few of the subs we were actively moderating shut down because Reddit in their infinite wisdom said they weren't being modded. We wont go into the full details about it, but we know why they shut them down, and it was pretty much a bullshit thing. So yeah we can step down, and then Reddit can go into the non-existent long line of people that want to work for free and have them take over the sub with no training, no experience, and try not to get it shut down.
We understand you just want to post and be seen, and we want that for you too, we are just a bunch unpaid volunteers trying to figure stuff out on Reddit. As soon as we can, we will do what we can to find a new normal.
If you want to get approved to post here, you will need to do the following things.
- Have your Twitch Profile linked in your Reddit Username
- Have actual Twitch streams in your Twitch Profile (Bonus points for gaming streams)
- Send us a modmail saying you have read our rules, include in the modmail that you understand you will be permanently banned if you break our rules a single time.
- Wait until the moderators have time to review your post. This could be a week or more. Be impatient, be ignored.
Sorry about all the hoops, but this is how Reddit is making us mod it seems. Please note, you will still have to put your twitch link as a comment after your post even when you are approved.
