Twitch Mobile App Improvements

With more and more streams producing content that is leaning more towards radio talk show type, I would like the twitch mobile app to be able to play the audio of a stream while not displaying the video.
It would be great if it could could act like the Pandora app and let it play in the background of the phone.
This came to me as I was watching the Twitch Weekly show and realized that I was just wasting my phone battery having to have the screen on to play the audio.
If this is just a setting on my phone, please disregard and please let me know how to do it!
