Bttv emotes only show up on twitch chat overlay but shows only words for chat. Need help

On my twitch overlay in obs the emotes appears as images and gifs.
But in twitch and twitch manager and twitch chat on the side of my obs all only show words and does the same for my viewers as well.
I've been trying to figure out why but I haven't found a single answer for why it's doing this
I use streamelements and obs
