So I've been streaming here and there this month, not getting a lot of views but it's no big deal, been streaming Dead by Daylight mostly. But here and there, someone will join chat, butter me up by asking simple questions about how my day is, responding to gameplay moments, how long I've been playing DBD for etc, and each of them always asks something along the lines of "have you thought of getting any artwork for your channel?", and asking if I have a discord.
Feels suspect, I've obviously never engaged with them but I'm just curious as to what this is, what are they trying to do here? Some of them are obviously bots but there is the occasional one with a username that looks legit and actually acts like a normal person in chat. Anyway to stop them from joining stream or is this something new streamers with low viewer counts have to endure as that's who they're targeting?
