As far as this prompt is concerned, this story is not exactly in my canon fanfic universe. I made this up for the sake of having a fun interaction between Riddle and Leona...and then Malleus and Lilia watch it go down as if they're at the movies.

“Mika, how much do you wanna bet that Leona can’t survive Heartslabyul’s rules for one hour?”

She flicked Grim in the head. “Don’t be so snarky, Grim. You wouldn’t even survive for five minutes.”

“Yeah, but I’m not the one who decided to take a part in this stupid challenge. Whoever thought switching dorms was a good idea, I’d love to know.”

“Believe it or not, it was Riddle and Leona themselves.”

“Myah?” the monster cat shrieked.

Oh, Mika wished she was making it up. During a Housewarden board meeting, Riddle and Leona got into it about how they ran their dorms. Riddle claimed that the Savanaclaw students were getting too rowdy and that Leona wasn’t doing enough to control their behavior. Leona casually shot back that Riddle was too uptight with his dorm, so much so that his own students were rubbing off their behavior on others without their permission. Riddle said that he would be able to put Savanaclaw in its place much better than Leona would, to which Leona replied that he wouldn’t survive in the Savanaclaw House for ten minutes. Of course, that argument made Azul, Kalim, Vil, and Idia more uncomfortable than usual. The only one who seemed to enjoy the spectacle was Malleus, who had just so happened to have told Mika, Grim, and Lilia the whole story.

The challenge both arguing Housewardens made was that the both of them were to exchange their houses for twenty-four hours to see how they would fair. Then, they were to report their findings and experiences afterwards.

Lilia laughed at every word Malleus said when he explained the situation. “My, my, this is definitely a tale I would love to hear out of those two.”

“The bet was made yesterday, right, Malleus?” Mika questioned.

“Yesterday at precisely 11:43 in the morning. Speaking of which, they should be arriving here at any moment.” Malleus pointed to the clock. It read, “11:43.”

Right as he announced that, the door to the classroom opened and the two dueling Housewardens entered, their heads dangling in shame.

“Well, well, I sense some humility in the room,” Lilia said.

Grim leaned over to Mika and whispered, “I think this didn’t end well for either of them.”

Mika nodded.

Malleus cleared his throat. “So…How did your challenge go?”

The both of them muttered, “Awful.” Their eyes lit up. “Excuse me?” they both exclaimed. “You had an awful time? Mine was worse than yours!”

“Oh dear,” Lilia chirped.

“Your housemates are the most unbearable!” Riddle snapped. “They will not listen to any form of reason. They’d rather cause trouble for others all day long without a care in the world!”

Leona scoffed. “Have you seen your own rabble lately? Every single one of them is as stuck up as a flamingo in mating season.”

“At least they are disciplined unlike your lot.”

“A little too disciplined if they refuse to listen to outsiders.”

Grim and Mika shared side glances.

“I couldn’t get a word in edgewise with your house. Even when I threatened their heads, they would not stop talking at the house meeting. It wasn’t until Ruggie and Jack had to step in for them to finally shut up, and Jack sure gave them a mouthful.”

“That does not surprise me,” muttered Leona.

“Jack Howl is surely Housewarden material, Leona,” Lilia said. “You should consider that when you finally go into your fourth year.”

“I didn’t ask you,” Leona growled. He cleared his throat. “Anyway, if I might suggest something, get some looser dorm uniforms, please. Putting on the dorm uniform was the most insulting thing I’ve ever done in my life.”

“Are you disrespecting our Queendom of Roses fashion?”

“If that means I don’t have to squeeze my waist into a stick by your social media obsessed freak, go off I guess.”

Perhaps this was the worst time to tell Leona that Cater had already posted the picture to MagiCam.

“Your dorm uniforms aren’t much better. Whoever is in charge of fabric-making clearly forgot how to make clothes. Too much cloth actually makes you look wider if it doesn’t match your body type.”

“I think you’ve forgotten that some of us have transformation type signature spells. Restriction causes stress. Stress makes us overblot, remember?”

Lilia nodded at Mika as if to say, “I can vouch for that.”

“The most insulting thing is your sleep regimen. You stay up until midnight and you wake up at 4:30? How do you get through the day with lack of sleep?”

“I’m sorry, but I don’t. However, I resent that for everyone else. How do you think we achieve so well in athletics at this school?”

“That must be why. You sleep so heavily that you can’t even tell everyone else to sleep.”

“Well, I’m not a fan of having no break time because I was so focused on planning your stupid tea parties! I think I ate so many tarts that I could be sleeping for a week straight thanks to your chef of a Vice Housewarden.”

“You will not disrespect Trey Clover in my presence, sir!”

“Guys! That’s enough!”

The Housewarden’s jerked in shock towards the usually quiet Mika, who had just had enough of the constant bickering. Even Grim was hiding under the long desk to avoid being the target of her rage.

“You’ve spent the entire time constantly bashing each other for things that you have been used to outside your own dorms. To be honest, I can agree on both of your stances because remember when I first came here, how miserable I was dealing with the both of you? Riddle, you’re a snob on every level. Leona, you’re so smart that it baffles me that you refuse to pretty much do anything to push yourself to be better for the sake of you and no one else.”

Both Housewardens’ eyes pulsed out of their heads. They were about to shout, “How dare you!” but Mika interrupted before that could even happen.

“But what you guys don’t understand is that there are reasons why you two became the heads of your Dorms specifically and nowhere else. There is a reason why the Mirror placed you in the Dorms you lead now. Riddle, you know how to command attention to those who will listen and because you are so dedicated to the Queen’s role, people respect you and stand to your call. Leona, you are practically one of the strangers mages I’ve ever met here. You have true traits of a leader. You give warnings and you follow through on them. You also know how to shut down trouble as it arises. You are a great tactician, and I’ve learned so much from you. Both of you as a matter of fact. I’m not even a student of either of your dorms, but without you two, I wouldn’t be remaining as prefect as I am today. Night Raven College needs Heartslabyul and Savanaclaw just as equally as any other House on campus, and they can’t function without the both of you respectively. Do you guys understand?”

The Houswardens looked at each other again. The anger in their eyes had vanished. Leona bit his bottom lip as Riddle fiddled with the front strands of his hair.

“Well, I take it that the two of you have learned your lessons today,” said Malleus.

“Yes,” said Lilia. “Both of your Houses have ways of function, and there is no competition between the two after all.”

Riddle and Leona side-eyed the Housewarden and Vice Housewarden of Diasomnia. They quickly glanced back at each other. Lastly, they both found a common ground by saying, “No, my house is better,” at the same time.

Mika rolled her eyes and thought, Well, at least they’re not fighting anymore.
