Does anywhere locally based offer free checking without an account minimum, and no monthly fee? If not that great of an arrangement, then what about the best local CU?
I’m tired of not having a physical bank. I preferred my financial health when I had a local CU with no fees and a small credit line.
My credit score is no longer great after a series of unfortunate events (550-600 now compared to the high 700s when I first joined a CU back home over a decade ago). Idk if that will affect me being accepted at a CU.
I’m coming to the regional sub bc I want local CU recommendations based on their customer service, fees, services, and policies (not like actual financial advice). I hope this is an ok spot to ask!
Also, I make income in cash and digital payments from self employment (“content”/SW) as well as working temp/gig work (multiple apps like Wonolo, instawork) and having a job that direct deposits routine paychecks. Having an easy to access online banking system, with good document availability for taxes and record keeping is also essential. I’m clawing my way back from homelessness this time last year so I need to pick a financial institution that isn’t targeted toward people with lots of investment potential.
