Turtle beach stealth 200 gen 2 headset chat volume sucks

The volume dial on my headset is insane. I turn it up and it just beeps and I can’t hear my friends. I turn it down and it has the same issue. I basically have to keep fucking with the dial until I can kinda hear my friends. Is this just how this model is? I need help.
