We are planning a trip from Houston to Bucharest this Fall. Booking with United miles. Great deal right now: 88k miles in Business class. Reviews on the 787-900 plane and service are mostly excellent. Connecting time in IST is sufficient for enjoying the lounge, but not excessive.

I have some concerns, based on many posts in this sub, and reviews on other platforms.

1. I see frequent reports that the cabins are overheated. There’s nothing worse than a hot, fry atmosphere of an overheated cabin! I think the 787s have individual air outlets so that might help, but it won’t if it’s blowing hot air.

2. Seat selection. I understand that Business Class passengers get free seat selection. But actually choosing seats seems to be a big cluster #%%#! Call in or email or Messenger? Why must you jump through hoops just to choose your seats. THEN… there are so many reports that your seats are given away anyway!!

3. We always travel carry-on only. United never checks weights on carry on. Lufthansa rarely does. I’m not sure what the allowance is for carry on in Business class.

4. Despite the supposed excellent service in TK Business Class, the rest of the operation seems like a three ring circus, based on what I’m reading.

Can you alleviate our concerns?
