So I have been using burlap primarily due to its price/yard and the fact that I am a beginner. I had been purchasing my burlap from a local artist shop and had no problem with it at all. The last burlap I purchased was at Walmart (I was impatient) and it is not as good as what I had been getting. Every time I tuft a section it needs to be re-stretched, also it seems like the weave is looser. I do plan on checking the other burlap from Walmart to compare the weave as it is possible that I happened to pick one that was more loose than others (they had 3 different kinds - all same price). I will also take a swatch with me to Joanns and compare it with their burlap. I will update with my findings for those interested.
